Maternity Sessions

The best time to schedule your pregnancy session is around 28-34 weeks, when the tummy is nice and round. This will vary with each women – and some women who carry small, or gain little weight may choose to wait until they are 36-38 weeks. You want to come when you feel good, have a nice belly but before the downward venture begins! Other women who are growing a bit more rapidly, may choose to come around 28-32 weeks. The idea is to come when you are nice and comfortable and have a nice round belly. It is best to schedule at least 1-2 weeks in advance. Our studio always leaves room for the expected Mama and new arrivals, so if you near the end of your term and need a session, just call our studio so we can get you in!

It is best to schedule 2-3 weeks in advance, however; we never turn anyone away! So if you waited until the last minute and you really need photos before you pop call us! You can choose from a studio, home or location session.

For our expecting clients Crystal and Nick have a full wardrobe of various coverings, wraps and other outfits that you can choose from. All portraits are respectfully photographed in good taste, and nudity is always optional and discreet.  We will make sure that you are comfortable with the various poses and each session is tailored towards your individual needs.

We also discuss what to wear.   Such items can include jewelry, accessories, ultrasound photos, hats, scarfs, boy shorts and even cute boots! Many pregnant clients opt to go barefoot, while others may bring some choices. We have seen everything from converse sneakers, boots and high heeled shoes.

For Men we suggest solid and simple clothing. We want them to be very comfortable as well. Little boys should be similar to Dad and both are welcome to bring light and dark shirts. Light patterns or textures are ok. And lastly, for little girls the options are plenty. We have dresses for girls from size 1 to size 12 and wraps are always available as well as pettis, rompers and tutus.

The idea is to create classic, simply portraits that will last a lifetime!
